Cultural Foundation in the name of Zofia Sek-Sekalska
Fundacja Kulturalna im. Zofii Sek-Sekalskiej w Kanberze
Established in 1992 by Zofia Sek-Sekalska from funds provided by her and those of others. Its purpose:
- To organise an annual competition of music and language known as Piekno Slowo I Muzyki Polskiej
- To promote Polish literature, history and music in children and young adults
- To work cooperatively with Polish language schools in Australia in disseminating knowledge about children, young adults living in Poland
The annual competition of music performance & recitation of Polish literature is advertised nationally in the Polish newspapers. Elimination rounds are conducted on one day during April with finalists appearing on the 3rd May Akademia in Canberra where three categories of prizes are given by the jury to children (5-8 years), children and teenagers (9-17 years), young adults (18-25 years).
